The Stand-up Vie project

Just like stand-up comedy, films directed with the bare minimum: a cell phone.

If you've already seen my first or my second documentary films, you already know more or less what brought me here. If not, welcome.

Like every human being, I have desires and dreams, more or less achievable.

I'm also a big fan of stand-up comedy.

After a while, something clicked and I came to the conclusion that it could be a lot of fun to make projects mixing stand-up with some of these desires.

And that it could be even more so if I filmed myself and made sense of it, so that others too could benefit from my experience through something I love even more than stand-up: cinema.

This led to the Stand-up Vie project: a trilogy of documentary films.

The first, "Stand-up Vie I - Going to Sweden with jokes", was released in cinemas at the end of 2023. In this one, I travel to one of my favorite destinations, Sweden, relying exclusively on the humor and generosity of strangers to get me through a 1 500 km journey.

After several theatrical releases, I decided to make it available for free on YouTube, and the many positive responses encouraged me to take things a step further.

The sequel, "Stand-up Vie II - From the Sagrada Família to the Acropolis", was also shown in cinemas in February 2024. The approach in this one is different. Stand-up is booming and bringing people together, whatever their culture. Here, I'm trying to find out how with major actors and spectators all over Europe.

Feedbacks have also been very positive. But unlike the first one, it's not yet publicly available, and I'm thinking about the best way to do it.

Today, I'm working on the latest project in this series: Stand-up Vie III, which I'll let you know about soon.

If you want to go further and do things in the right order to get all the references, you can start by watching Stand-up Vie I below.
